Jonah Ryan
Jonah Ryan Intern Spotlight

Our Summer 2021 Intern Program included 70 talented interns from across the United States who have made valuable contributions to many aspects of our business, including R&D, manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Tech & Digital and Enabling Functions. Here is Jonah, a student at Middlebury College, working as a Data Science Intern on the Digital, Data, & Analytics' team. Read more about Jonah and his experience below.

What is your role at Zoetis?

I am a Data Science Intern on the Digital, Data & Analytics’ Team. Since data science is incorporated in all different aspects of the business, Zoetis has afforded me the opportunity to work with many different departments. A project I am working on is an intricate POC (proof of concept) using machine learning functionalities to increase applicable regulations to our sites. It's been very rewarding to use special tools that Zoetis offers.

How would you describe the culture at Zoetis?

I would say the culture at Zoetis is collaborative, especially in the Digital, Data & Analytics' team. There are lot of different stakeholders that we juggle so being able to work tightly with a diverse group of people through that is amazing. Everybody at Zoetis is open to answer any question, so it’s a great place to learn!

What do you like to do on your free time?

I am an avid long-distance runner. I like to spend much of my time in Vermont, where there are so many great hiking and running trails.

What advice would you give future interns?

Bring a willingness to try more than anything. Be observant and soak up as much as possible for the best experience.

Has your internship at Zoetis met your expectations?

Zoetis has exceeded all my expectations this summer. I thought my remote internship was going to be more difficult, but Zoetis made sure that the remote internship feels as much like an in-person internship as possible. I’ve enjoyed the organized intern events throughout the summer!
